AdSense
AdSense, also known as Google Adsense, is a Google-owned program allowing website owners to get paid for advertising on their site based on the number of visitors who click on them.
This is how a website owner makes $$ money selling ad space (see “banner ads”) to various companies & individuals.
An advertiser places an ad on the "content network" using Google AdWords. Once an ad is placed on a website, the advertiser is charged a fee each time a visitor clicks on the ad. (This is known as “Pay Per Click” or PPC.)
The advertising fee is divided and paid to both Google and the owner of the website the ad is placed on.
Can you really make $$ money from selling ads on your website?
You bet. But must have a good website first. The more traffic you have, and the higher your rankings, the more you can charge for adspace.
Here are the names of some common website ad you can sell on your website. They are listed in size from largest (and most expensive/most intrusive to your website) to smallest (and least expensive).
